The Destructive Side of Anger

In today's The Embodied Podcast episode I discuss what happens if we are unable to create a capacity to meet the wisdom held within our anger.

I discuss the destructive sides of anger can manifest.

1:10:

Anger is an emotion that holds a lot of activation in the nervous system.

2:40:

When we don't have the capacity to meet our anger, we start to miss the wisdom of the anger.

3:10:

Sometimes destruction is a very helpful in the process of undoing and unweaving.

3:30:

When the destructive side of anger is ignored, it can create a vacuum in the unconscious.

6:00:

The different forms anger can take in the imaginal.

10:12:

A quote by Jung to assist in navigating intense emotions, "To the extent that I managed to translate the emotions into images, I was inwardly calm and reassured, had I left those images hidden in emotions, I might have been torn to pieces by them, I learned how helpful it can be from a therapeutic point of view, to find particular images, which lie behind emotions."

11:37:

Some of the things that are happening within us don't have a reason and they don't make sense. They're not rational and they're not linear, so whenever we're trying to conquer these unconscious experiences, we start to lose the gift that is held within them.
